SequoiaDoz Project 1

    I enjoy some of the line work in this piece. The lines of the green space work into the lines of the water bottle that continue across the phone. This creates sweeping movement through the piece that leads my eye from one side of the work to the other. I like the way that my eye travels from the top right side of the piece, where the light enters, through the middle lower portion of the pice and then back up to the top left. The movement is circular which brings me back to the starting point again.
    The arrangement of objects is not as strong in this work. The phone appears to be floating on top of the water bottle which makes me wonder if it is supposed to the be there or inside the bottle. The arrangement does not seem as purposeful as it could. I almost wish that I could not tell that it is a water bottle the phone is in/on so that I would not be wondering what is going on here.
    Conceptually, the piece could have been stronger if either the phone was contained within something not as identifiable as the water bottle, or something that could occur within a water bottle filled the space, such as a fish, or something of that nature. I think the concept would be stronger and therefore create a stronger and more intriguing composition.

    I like how the cut out in the green object creates almost a frame. There is a definite focal point in the piece. I like how there is texture and lines on the green object as well. Keeps the eye moving. I think the placement of the individual objects was very nice. I think that the colors in the piece compliment each other very well.

    I think that the center area is a little confusing. The objects are sitting on top of each other. Maybe a little blending or blurring? Overall, I like the choice and placement of objects. I may have played with the phone and the colors a little more, but I think it is very interesting piece.

    I like the combinations of color here. The orange of the phone and the green background work well together. I also like the lighting at the top of the image. I can't quite tell if it is from the flash of the camera or if it is a photoshop effect, and I think that is a good thing!

    I feel like you could have done more with this image. Maybe, by using blur effects, opacity, or just more effects in general would have brought this image together. I would just say explore the program more and use it to it's full ability. It looks like a great start, it just doesn't quite feel finished.

    Sequoia. Your use of lines are good. The objects that you selected were nice. However, I think your piece may need more work. The lighting isn't as effective. You should definitely tweak this. It has the potential to become a great piece. You should experiment with your masks, add some brush strokes, put some more color in there. I cant formulate what I think when I look at your piece but I sure that when you work on it more, it will be a nice design.
