  2. I like the overall piece that you have created. One things that I like about the piece is your use of overlay and how you set different images among others that you had. The way that you integrated the clock numbers and hands into the piece but at the same time not taking away from the girl reading is very nice for it still seems contained.

Even though I do like how the piece is in black and white, I think that it would be interesting to see this piece possible more alive with some form of color. It makes me wonder how different the piece might be or be taken in by the viewer.

Over all I like the piece and get a feel of studying outside with the fight against time trying to absorb all the knowledge that I might need for the test ahead.

  3. Corey,
I really liked how chose to stay in the black & white color realm. It allows the different textures to stand out giving the work a ton of character. Your use of lines from the steps, that come across horizontally combined with the vertical lines from the wall and the clock add to that visual harmony.
It seems that school takes up the majority of your time and plays an important role in the make up of you as a person in this time of your life. I also like that you put in the steps for 2 reasons: the next step in the ladder of life and that there seem to be TOO many steps on this campus especially between here and the gym. Great Job.

  4. I love the fact that this piece is in black and white and it is the right mix of blacks and whites since Photoshop has a bunch of different features for their b&w. The blending of lines and layers creates a unified scene for the viewer to look at. I think the focal point whatever that may be should be a little more contrasting to the other material in the image.
Compositionally I like the figure being on one side of the page instead of the middle because it gives more interest to the work overall. I am wondering what the girl has to do with you and why you picked this picture for the focal point. Also the text “sterling” is a little distracting but I do think the number “11” ties into the line aspect of the piece. Overall very visually appealing and pleasant to look at.
I think this piece tells the viewer that you are interested in line and texture as a whole and can do without color any day of the week which is courageous because most people freak out when there is no color(i.e. me)

  5. This is a very nice piece. It takes a step back from the nitty-gritty colors and patterns and things anyone could throw in and goes back to simple subject matter. It seems very personal and it works for me as a first project.

This piece could seem "unfinished" because of its minimalism. Just keep giving us meaningful stuff to look at in the future.

  7. I think this is very strong conceptually. My first thought is that school is a huge part of your life, I like the use of line they show direction and organization. They lead your eye around the piece very nicely. Being in grey scale creates a calm relaxing feeling and reflects how the girl feels.
I think the clock company could have been cropped out not sure if it has meaning but its distracting to the eye. It seems a little washed out. There are a lot of mid tones. More contrast in the clock on the right side I feel would balance it out a little more.
