At first glance the composition seemed rather simple, it wasn't until I took a closer look that I saw how complex the work really was.
I interpret it as there are many layers that make up you as a person, some that stand out some that are transparent but all inter-twine to make up a complex work.

The piece grew on me; from the way you melded the different photos and made the transparent layers pop out in an easy going way, to the simple use of natural colors and textures. It really brings about a continuity to the work. Great Job.

  2. Technically the blending of the layers and overall feel to the piece are unified. I think it would have been interesting to see a different texture on the thread instead of the grass texture. Maybe a non-organic texture like metal would have given more separation to the thread like object.
This piece is visually appealing with the composition having three parts, the dark, middle (gray), and the white. The composition could have been better with more contrasting colors and playing with the values of those colors, i.e. making the darks darker and whites whiter. I like that the composition is so simple and yet is complex in its simplicity.
I think this piece tells the viewer a lot about what your interests are like texture and space. I think it also shows that you have a strong sense of balance and probably prefer your life to be like this.

  3. There is a good balance between the negative and positive space. The balance helps your eye move from side to side through the image. When you step back from the image you see how the arm like objects in the center create a transition in tonal range.
i think if a different overlay was used over the image on the left in would create more depth in the image. The trees being over the whole image seems to flatten it and makes it feel too busy.

  4. Your work is very simple from a distance. I know in class I was sitting across the room and would never have guessed that the light area was actually yarn. You did a good job bring the image together and making it into one piece. I think the overlay of the trees helped a lot with that.

The differences in the whites and the blacks are easily noticeable. The background is so dark it adds an interest to it. I want to know what is going on back there. I can't tell if it is just woods or maybe something more. I see you have some green grass and maybe a few plants. This added color is nice. The dark area would probably be too dark if it wasn't there.

  5. I like this peice because it holds my attention. All of the detailed textures and shapes are placed well. I really like the light figure on the dark background because it seems dramatic.

I wouldn't change much. I might add someone for the monster to fight, in the bottom right area. The bottom right seems a tad murky and I'm not given any flat or untextured area to rest my eyes on. And I think there could be more character or interaction around this monster-thing.
